To My Dear Job Seekers:
Here are some job search pointers for you.
When I say treat job hunting as a full-time job, I do not mean spend the whole day applying to all possible positions you see on job boards. This will in fact hurt rather than help.
Be critical about the jobs you apply to. Only send a resume to those that you feel very strongly about. Have standards.
Spend the rest of your time doing these as these are perfectly helpful job search pointers —
- Build your network on Linkedin, and try to have ongoing communication with new connections.
- Demonstrate your passion by blogging or posting about your line of work.
- Go to networking events.
- Improve yourself.
- Do practice interviews with a friend or family member.
- Read.
