HOW TO RESPOND WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER TO AN INTERVIEW QUESTION
Sometimes even after preparing and getting ready for the interview, you will encounter one question that you never thought would be asked. Here are a few tips for when that happens —
• Don’t rush and impulsively talk without thinking. Take a good deep breath, think and cover it up by confidently saying “I have not gotten the opportunity to explore this but I have knowledge about this (try to talk about something related to the question) & finish it by saying “I will definitely study this area and gather more information about it.”
• Don’t Lie & Don’t Panic – If you don’t know the answer then it’s okay, just say so. If you lie and panic, you will not be able to think straight then you surely are going to get rejected.
• Understand the objective behind the question – This is one of the techniques of the interviewers, they tend to asks such questions where they know you don’t know the answer, in order to check your critical thinking and how you can handle the situation.
