Internal recruiting is an inexpensive route to take in adding talent to your team, and yes, online recruiting is the way to go these days!  Even I who run a recruiting business here in Vancouver will attest to this.  Why spend thousands of dollars on recruiting agencies when there are a multitude of online resources available.  You’d then wonder why I am saying this and why I am still in the industry and have not diversified or have altogether gone into another field of business! Well let’s discuss that.  Let us tell you when using a Recruitment Agency is the smart choice.

The argument is simple, I believe that companies have a special use for recruitment agencies like us.  I do not recommend for all businesses to use external recruiting help especially when they have a whole team of talent acquisition people at their disposal.  However, if despite  this team, you find yourself still needing outside help, maybe there is something wrong with the system or the personnel in the first place.  Definitely one worth reviewing…

You have been looking for weeks and still have no strong candidates for the position.  You have placed ads in job boards, industry associations, LinkedIn, Craigslist, Monster and all but no one seems to stand out.  The recruiter’s extensive reach and special sourcing talent may be the solution…
  2. You placed an ad and received hundreds of resumes and do not have the time and people resources to go through all of them. Recruiters specialize in this task, this is what they do day in and day out…
  3. You have done this before, thought you’d hired the right one for the job but turned out after a short while that you didn’t, and now you have to do it all over again. Seasoned Recruiters will have the proper expertise to minimize such risk…
  4. The search is urgent and you have no time to waste. Sense of urgency is one of the skills recruiters are trained for, talk about your timeline at the onset…
  5. The search is confidential and you do not want it posted everywhere. Only the best recruiters will be able to deliver on this kind of mandate.  Choose wisely…
